Product Description
Teflon, known for its unique combination of mechanical, electrical,
chemical, temperature, and anti-friction properties, is ideal for a
wide range of applications. PTFE boasts a very high melting point
and can continuously operate at temperatures up to 500°F (260°C).
As the most chemically resistant plastic available, it reacts with
only a few chemicals.
While PTFE's mechanical properties are lower compared to other
engineering plastics, it maintains its integrity across a wide
temperature range, from -400°F to 500°F (-240°C to 260°C). The
mechanical properties can be enhanced by adding fillers such as
glass fiber, carbon, graphite, molybdenum disulfide, and bronze.
Additionally, PTFE offers excellent thermal and electrical
insulation properties and has a low coefficient of friction.
However, bonding to PTFE is challenging.
